    Objective

    1. Doubling of farmers cocoon production.
    2. In Mulbery sector, 100% Bivoltine cocoon production should be done.
    3. In Mulbery sector,100% Chawki should be given to farmer as a result quality and quantity of cocoon will be enhanced.
    4. In Mulbery sector,increase of cocoon production from 65 KG. to 70 KG. from 100 DFLs.
    5. Execution and managewment of Jalana & Solapur cocoon market as per Karnataka state. Establishment of new cocoon market ain other regions of state.
    6. Expansion of Tasar sericulture in other parts of Maharashtrea other than except eastern part of Maharashtra districts like Gadchiroli, Chandrapur,Bhandara and Gondiaby surveying the availability of food plants like Asan and Arjun.
    7. Increasing Tasar silk beneficiaries from 1355 to 3000 in Numbers.
    8. To increase the production of Bivoltine cocoon in Tasar from 20 % to 50%.
    9. Incresing productivity in Tasar silk from 30 cocoonper DFL to 45 cocoon per DFL.
    10. Establishment of Tasar cocoon purchasing market at ArmoriDist. Gadchiroli.
    11. Promotion of private Dfls producers in Mulbery and Tasar Sector.
    12. Providing modern technology training in Mulbery and Tasar sector to develop least cost technology for the producer.
    13. To increase participation of private entrepreneurs in post cocoon activities.
    14. To process of Mulbery and Tasar silk production in the state itself, creation of soil to fabric level industry and generatr employment through it.
    15. To increase production and productivity through conducting research in Mulbery and Tasar. Creation of RSRS at Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar District.
    16. To set up research centres in the state and training centres at regional level.
    17. To establish division wise Grainage centres in the state.

    Functions

    1. To increase the economic income of the farmers of Maharashtra state by shifting them from traditional agriculture to non-traditional agriculture.
    2. Organizing or participating in farmers’ Melas at village, taluka, district, and state levels.
    3. Timely provision of scientific technology for social and economic upliftment of farmers in silk industry.
    4. Implementation of central and state government schemes for the growth of silk industry.
    5. To create and increase a marketing system for silk cocoons produced in the state.
    6. To increase the number of IARM reeling machinery in the state of Maharashtra and to make efforts to increase Raw silk production projects from farmer produced silk cocoons.
    7. To make efforts to increase silk yarn production twisting projects in the state with a view to supply good quality silk yarn to produce silk saree / paithni manufacturing units.
    8. Implementation of methods to promote the beneficiaries of Tasar cocoon production in tribal areas and to strengthen the sales system.
    9. Plantation of new Ain and Arjuna trees for environmental protection in coordination with Forest Department to produce Tasar silk cocoons.
